Gang of six gets 6-month jail term, Dhs56,000 fine for stealing spices from Dubai warehouse

An Asian gang of five men was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment, followed by deportation for stealing boxes of spices from a warehouse in Dubai.

A fine of Dhs56,000 was also imposed on the gang.

The robbery dates back to last October, when an employee discovered that the warehouse was broken into and 49 boxes of spices were missing.

Surveillance cameras revealed that the identity of five gang members who had stolen the boxes and transposed them through a mini van.

Three of the defendants were arrested, while the other two are still on the run.
