A 24-year-old Arab youth was arrested by police on burglary charges after he robbed a supermarket in Dubai of a telephone card and Dhs470.
The case dates back to last February.
Court records of the case, which dates back to last February, point out that the young defendant headed to the supermarket with his vehicle and called out for the salesman to make his order.
The defendant tricked the salesman and claimed to have Dhs500 that needed to be changed, and asked for a Dhs30 telephone charge card.
When the salesman returned with the card and a Dhs470 change, the defendant suddenly pulled them both out of his hand and pushed him to the floor, then fled the scene.
Police were alerted about the robbery, and intensive investigations revealed the defendant’s identity who was later apprehended and prosecuted for his crime.
