African gets 6 months jail for robbing an Asian at knifepoint in Dubai

A 22-year-old African man was sentenced to 6 months in jail, followed by deportation for robbing an Asian visitor at knifepoint with the help of other runaway accomplices.
In December 2020, the Asian visitor was walking towards his residence but the moment he entered a dark lane he was attacked by the defendant and his accomplices.
The four-men gang restrained the victim’s movement and threatening to kill him with a knife if he does not empty his pockets.
They searched him and grabbed his wallet with Dhs970 inside, besides stealing his phone.
After the robbery they immediately fled the scene.
The victim attempted to run behind them but failed to catch any of the robbers; ten minutes later, the victim noticed that one of the defendants returning back to the robbery scene to take his bike.
This is when the victim asked for passer-by help to catch the defendant and informed police teams.
