A gang of five Asians was arrested and prosecuted for breaking into a construction site and stealing electric cables worth Dhs37,000 in Dubai.
During investigations, the defendants confessed to selling the stolen cables for Dhs22,000 in another Emirate and splitting the money between them.
Details of the case date back to last August, when the gang targeted the construction site and began to plan to rob the place.
They wore masks and ambushed the site’s security guard and tied him up, covered his face and threatened to kill him if he resisted.
The gang stole the electric cables worth Dhs37,000 kept inside the construction site and fled the scene.
The security guard remained tied up until the company’s engineer arrived to be surprised with the robbery incident.
Police were alerted, and investigations revealed the identity of the robbers who were arrested one by one.
