Arab visitor jailed for forging car parking ticket in Dubai

The Dubai Criminal Court has sentenced an Arab visitor to 3 months imprisonment, followed by deportation for forging a car parking ticket to avoid paying its fees in Dubai.
Last September, a public parking inspector was on duty in Business Bay Area when he checked the defendant’s paid parking ticket and discovered that it was a forged one.
Once the details of the tickets were found to be suspicious, the inspector immediately informed his superiors, who in their turn reported the forgery incident to police.
Later on a police officer contacted the 29-year-old defendant, who denied all accusations and claimed that he had bought the parking ticket.
When the ticket was confirmed to be forged, the defendant took back his statements and confessed to forging the ticket in order to avoid paying.
During investigations, he claimed that he had forged the ticket as he did not have enough money to pay for it.
He was eventually detained and prosecuted on forgery charges.
