The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) on Monday announced that maintenance work would be carried out for Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Bridge on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311) in the Emirate of Sharjah.
The maintenance work has been scheduled to start from Thursday 18/03/2021 until Friday 26/03/2021, from 1:00am until 5:00am, according to the MoEI’s statement.
The Ministry called on the road users to exercise caution and to adhere to the speed limits and instructions indicated in the workplace.
Last month the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that the Dhs2 billion improvement project to widen the Dubai-Al Ain Road has reached a completion rate of 60 per cent.
The project is aligned with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai’s vision for the emirate for the next 50 years to meet the needs of urban development and population growth across the Emirate.
The Dubai-Al Ain Road Improvement Project will ensure a smooth traffic flow and enhance the links with key roads in the Emirate namely Ras Al Khor Road, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Road and the Emirates Road. It will also serve the existing and future development projects on both sides of the Dubai-Al Ain Road.
Upon completion, the project will double the road’s capacity from 6,000 to 12,000 vehicles per hour per direction and will also cut the journey time on Dubai-Al Ain Road, from Bu Kadra junction to Emirates Road junction, from 16 to 8 minutes during peak hours. Benefiting 1.5 million people, the project will eliminate tailbacks that used to extend two kilometres.
