Taraweeh prayers to resume this Ramadan

Taraweeh prayers during the Holy Month of Ramadan this year will be held according to virus precautionary measures, the UAE’s National Crisis & Emergency Management Authority (NCEMA) announced on Tuesday.
“Iftar meals will not allowed inside mosques, and the duration of the Isha and Tarawih prayers will be limited to 30 minutes maximum,” said NCEMA during the weekly briefing regarding the coronavirus situation in the country.
“Mosques will be closed immediately after the prayer, while women's prayer areas, other facilities, and external roads praying areas will remain closed," said NCEMA.
“As for Qiyam-ul-layl during the last ten days of Ramadan, the status of the pandemic in the country will be continuously assessed, and the measures will be updated in accordance with new developments’” it said.
“Religious lessons and meetings in mosques will remain suspended, with the option of virtual participation. We encourage reading the Quran through smart devices, and electronic donations, donations and zakat,”
Authorities have urged everyone to cooperate and adhere to measures and instructions, as intensive inspection campaigns will be carried out during Ramadan, and legal measures will be taken against all violators, whether individuals or institutions.
“The spirit of the blessed month of Ramadan can be enjoyed, as it is possible, despite social distancing, to remain in contact with family and friends using social media and digital platforms,” NCEMA said.
