Nouf Khaled Ahli becomes first woman to head Dubai Police station

Lieutenant Nouf Khaled Ahli is the first female general duty police officer of a police station at the level of Dubai Police, adding to the successes of the Dubai Police’s female staff through her work as a general duty police officer of the Naif Police Station and her supervision of all its security, administrative and criminal tasks.

Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Investigation Affairs, said that Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, pays great attention to empowering women and training them on an ongoing basis.

At an early stage, Dubai Police had qualified and highly skilled female cadres and continued its strategies to empower and develop their female staff through good training according to the latest scientific approaches in line with the latest international practices in all disciplines, enabling them to complete the tasks assigned to them to the fullest.

Brigadier Dr Tariq Tahlak, Director of Nayef Police Station, said the station is proud of this achievement, which confirms that the Dubai Police are proactive in empowering women to accomplish tasks that were previously limited to men.

He explained that the general duty police officer has many important tasks as all the station’s  responsibilities are shouldered by him including among others holding the daily meeting of the station’s staff, explaining the security situation, supervising the exit and distribution of security patrols, receiving applicants and complainants, supervising reports and carrying out inspection tours inside the station.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Ahli said: “I feel proud of my work at Dubai Police, which has a great reputation worldwide and has made high level police achievements. Dubai Police is a dream and destination for many young people seeking excellence, creativity and innovation and a pioneering work environment that supports its employees in all aspects and empowers the female staff through numerous programs and initiatives.”

She indicated that after graduating from the Dubai Police Academy within the first batch, she received her training at Nayef Police Station in many administrative, security, criminal, and legal aspects. She later joined field work, especially her work as a general duty police officer after she had noticed that there were no female staff in this field.

She showed interest in this work based on her belief that women are able to undertake such tasks, adding that the stages of training and study at the Dubai Police Academy, coupled with her practical experience at Naif Police Station and the station’s support, contributed greatly to improving her skills.
