The Emirates Schools Establishment (ESE) approved the timetable for classes for students of all levels of education during the Holy Month of Ramadan for the academic year 2020-2021.
It was decided to reduce the school day for students of the second and third cycles to be 4 hours a day, including breaks between classes, 3 hours for students of the first cycle, and 2 hours for kindergarten.
The ESE approved 30 classes per week for students of the second and third cycles, at a rate of 35 minutes per class, 25 classes for students of the first cycle, at a rate of 30 minutes per class.
The school day for Kindergarten is decided to begin at 10am and end at 12pm, with a five minute break between each class for all stages.
The ESE stated in a circular to the principals of schools and kindergartens that students of the third cycle, which includes students of grades 9 to 12, will start school day at 9am until 1.05pm, provided that students get two breaks of 10 minutes each.
The first break will be after the second class, at 10:15am, while the second break will be after the fourth class, at 11:40am.
For the second cycle , which includes students of grades five to eight, it was decided that they will start their academic day at 9am until 1.05pm, with two breaks of 10 minutes each.

Concerning the first cycle, which includes students of grades 1-4, it was decided they will start their academic day at 9am until 12pm, with two breaks of 10 minutes each. The first break is to start after the second class, at 10: 05, while the second break is to be after the fourth class, at 11:20am.
Kindergartens will start their day at 10:00am and end at 12pm.
