The body of a person who drowned on Sunday in Umm Al Quwain was recovered on Wednesday morning, after long efforts by the search and rescue teams, according to Major General Sheikh Rashid Bin Ahmed Al Mualla, Commander-in-Chief of Umm Al Quwain Police.

The operations room at Umm Al Quwain Police was alerted about a person who had drowned while swimming at Al Bayt Al Mitwahid Corniche in Umm Al Quwain, Al Mualla added.
He continued, “Accordingly, the police patrols along with the national ambulance rushed to the reported location, where it was learnt that four persons from different nationalities were swimming in the sea, before two of them were exposed to drowning. One of those two was rescued and transferred to Umm Al Quwain Hospital to receive treatment, while the other remained missing in the sea.”
Immediately, the search and rescue teams in Dubai Police, the Civil Defence Department in Umm Al Quwain and a number of volunteer diving teams were contacted to help find the missing person. They made great efforts around the clock until his body was found on Wednesday, at around 11.15 am in Naqaa area, Al Mulla said.
