Colonel Dr Mubarak Bin Nawas Al Ketbi, director of Dubai Tourist Police, said they received a report from security guards in Umm Suqeim 1 on the missing child.
“The boy was riding a scooter when he got separated from his parents who were busy buying dinner meals,” added Al Ketbi.
Al Ketbi noted that they immediately issued an all-points bulletin for the area police patrols to search for the missing child.
“Our officers located the missing boy within just 40 minutes. He was in Umm Suqeim 2, almost 3km away from his parents. Our officers reassured the poor child who was starving, scared and crying for help,” he added.
Al Ketbi urged parents to always keep an eye on their children in public and open places, especially during evenings to avoid such circumstances.
The child’s parents were extremely happy and expressed their thanks to Dubai Police for the swift action of finding their child and maintaining his safety.
