In Texas, a sheriff relieved seven officers of their duties on Thursday following the death of a Black man, Marvin D. Scott III in their custody.
Scott, 26, arrested after a March 14 disturbance at an outlet mall, was acting in an erratic manner and police were concerned for his safety because of the possible ingestion of drugs, they said at the time.
After he was handed over to the county jail, Scott was restrained and pepper-sprayed leading to his death, sources added that a spit hood was placed over his head.

"Evidence I have seen confirms that these detention officers violated well-established sheriff’s office policies and procedures," Jim Skinner, the sheriff of Collin county said.
According to the media, Scott was arrested by Allen city police on a marijuana possession charge.
It added that he has less than two ounces of the drug on him at the time of arrest, which is a misdemeanour.
