A 36-year-old European-Asian man was imprisoned and referred to criminal court on drug possession charges in Dubai.
The incident dates back to February, when police were alerted with the defendant’s drug activity.
The defendant was caught in the possession of crystal meth drugs, and admitted to facilitating it to another female defendant without any charge.
The defendant and his female friend were placed under arrest, with a maximum jail-term expected for them.
In another drug-trafficking case, an African defendant, aged 20, was apprehended by anti-narcotics teams for possession and usage of hashish and marijuana drugs.
The defendant was ambushed and arrested in December of 2020. Police seized 245g of hashish drug, rolled inside a plastic bag, and also found 1,437g of marijuana.

Dubai Courts eventually prosecuted him on drug trafficking charges.
In March 2021, the Dubai Criminal Court sentenced an Asian businessman to five years in jail to be followed by deportation and fined him Dhs15,000 after being convicted of facilitating drug abuse for others who were referred to the misdemeanor court.
The court ruled in the same case that a security guard be acquitted of the drug trafficking charge.
The case dated back to last June, when the police received a tip-off that the convict was abusing and possessed a quantity of drugs.
A policeman testified that he, accompanied by a man and a woman, moved to the convict’s residence.
On interrogation, the convict confessed to possessing a quantity of drugs, which he brought from a cupboard in his house. The other two people confessed to abusing drugs, which the convict supplied to them.
The policeman stated that the convict accused the security guard of supplying him with drugs in exchange for money.
