Gulf Today Report
Twitter Inc said on Saturday that its social networking site was down for many users in the UAE and some parts of Asia.
The company said, “Tweets may not be loading for some of you. We’re working on fixing a problem and you’ll be back on the timeline soon.”
Most users worldwide reported logout errors and other failures.
Multiple issues ranging from search terms and tweets failing to load, retrieving tweets and more were reported.
Twitter earlier said that the site should be working for everyone but it did not have any evidence of a security breach or a hack.
Outage tracking website Downdetector.com showed more than 55,000 users were facing issues with Twitter.
A user with the name, Eliza May wrote on Downdetector, “Down for me in twitter website but accessible via tweet tweetdeck. Get 'error, it's not you' trying on android.”
Julie Ali said, “Twitter is reporting it is over capacity for me. I don't know what this means. I can't read any Tweets…”
A user vented anger by saying sarcastic things, “Try shaking the computer and if that don't work maybe your pc needs some water
try adding a quart of warm water Twitter down.”
As of 6pm UAE time, the micro-blogging site users continue to face problems with no relief in sight.
