A magnitude 6 earthquake struck western Indonesia on Tuesday, reported the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
According to the EMSC, the quake was at a depth of 10 km. Initially, it reported a depth of 2 km with a 5.9 magnitude.

The earthquake was in the Nias region, 325 km southwest of the city of Padangsidempuan in North Sumatra, EMSC added.
