No Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers on roads near mosques: Sharjah Police

The Sharjah Police have announced that they have intensified its preparations to receive the nights of Ramadan 27th and 29th and the Eid Al Fitr holidays.
This came during the meeting that was held through the visual communication feature and chaired by Brigadier General Abdullah Mubarak Bin Amer, Deputy Commander in Chief. The meeting was attended by Brigadier General Aref Bin Hadeeb, Director of the Media and Public Relations Department, Colonel Dr Ali Abul Zoud, Deputy Director of Central Operations, and a number of departmental directors.
The meeting pointed out that the Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers would be performed specifically inside mosques and not in the squares and roads surrounding the mosques in line with the public health and safety rules and regulations and in accordance with the precautionary and preventive measures in place, to curb the spread of the COVID-19.

The meeting reviewed the plans prepared by the concerned departments for the nights of Ramadan 27th and 29th and the Eid Al Fitr holidays.
It was revealed that 300 military and civilian patrols will be allocated for this purpose in all regions and main streets within Sharjah City and the eastern and central regions to keep order.
This is aimed at reducing random parking and avoiding traffic jams in line with the Ministry of Interior’s strategic goal of making roads safer.
Meanwhile, open Eid prayer halls will be in accordance with the directives that will be issued later by the competent authorities and will be applicable in time as per the developments that may arise.
The meeting also discussed the readiness of the central operations room to deal with all reports and general inquiries received from the public on the 999 for emergency cases and 901 for non-emergency cases.
