An Asian gang of 4 men and an Arab accomplice were booked by police and referred to criminal court for breaking into a Dubai villa to steal doors and windows worth Dhs25,000.
The incident took place in May 2020, when the owner of the villa called police to report that his villa guard was attacked and all his doors and windows were removed and stolen.
Apparently, the villa guard was asleep when he heard noises coming out from inside the villa premises around 7:00 am, and ran to checkout the place.
He ran into the four Asian defendants and asked how did they get in, then one of the defendants said they had jumped the villa’s wall to receive items from its storage area.
They tricked the guard who guided them to the storage room and opened its door, but was suddenly pushed by one of the defendants and locked inside it.
The gang extracted door and windows of the villa and fled the place.
The locked guard was freed by his friend who received his call and ran to rescue him.
The villa owner was alerted by the robbery, and immediately knew the defendants were employees of the company that installed his windows and doors.
He contacted the Arab defendant, who is a partner of the company, and told him to return his stolen doors but he refused to do so.
Police were alerted and investigations were carried out and the defendants under arrest on robbery charges.
