UAE suspends flights from India till June 14

UAE airline Emirates has suspended passenger flights from India until 14 June 2021.

The Dubai-based airline said passengers who have transited through India in the last 14 days would not be accepted to travel from any other point to the UAE.

A statement on Emirates read, “UAE Nationals, holders of UAE Golden Visas and members of diplomatic missions who comply with the revised published COVID‑19 protocols will be exempt for travel.

Emirates advised passengers to keep their ticket for future flights.

Emirates said, “You don’t need to call us if you choose to keep your ticket for future flights.

“You can get all the information on ‘Keep your ticket’ option here. Please contact your booking office when you are ready to travel.”

Earlier, the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) had announced that entry from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka would be suspended for all incoming passengers on national and foreign carriers, as well as those carrying transit passengers from May 12, 2021.

The decision exempted transit flights coming to the UAE and heading towards these countries. This decision is applicable to the entry of travellers who were in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka in the last 14 days before coming to the UAE.

Flights between these countries and the UAE will continue to operate, allowing the transportation of passengers from the UAE to those countries. It will also allow the transfer of some exempted groups from the four aforementioned countries to the UAE, with strict enforcement of precautionary measures.
