Rains of different intensity fell on separate areas of the UAE on Monday as a result of the state being affected by the extension of a weak surface depression accompanied by an extension of an air depression in the upper atmosphere.
While heavy rains and hail fell by 4:00pm on Wadi Mai in Fujairah, light to moderate rains on Wadi Al Hilo in Sharjah, light rains on Khatm Al Milaha and moderate rains on Ohla in Fujairah.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) called on driver to exercise extreme caution during rainfall lack of horizontal visibility due to the rainfall and dust-stirring winds.
The NCM also advised people to stay away from flooded valleys. The lowest temperature of 24.4˚C was recorded at 02:30am local time on Monday in Ras Ghanada in Abu Dhabi, while the highest temperature of 49.1˚C was recorded at 3:00pm in Al Shawamekh in Abu Dhabi.
The NCM said the weather on Tuesday is expected to be clear in general and hot during the day with low clouds appearing in the morning on the eastern coast.
The winds are south-easterly turning into northwesterly and northeasterly of light to moderate speed, the NCM added, noting that they become strong and dust-stirring sometimes during the day at 15 to 25 and up to 35 km/h. The sea will have light waves in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.
Thursday’s weather is expected to be generally clear and dusty sometimes, with a marked drop in temperatures, the NCM said, adding that it will be humid at night and Friday morning in some coastal areas.
