His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has directed to allocate Dhs150 million for the second phase of construction and pavement internal roads, in the suburbs of Al Gharayen, Al Siouh and Al Rahmaniyah.
This was announced by Yousef Al Suwaiji, Chairman of the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA), during a phone call to the "Direct Line" radio programme broadcast by Sharjah Radio and Television.
He said, “His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah has directed to allocate Dhs150 million to the second phase of construction and pavement of internal roads in the suburbs of Al Gharayen, Al Siouh and Al Rahmaniyah each.”
Recently following a directive by Sheikh Sultan, Dhs2.5 million had been allocated for the purchase of new titles from both Arab and foreign publishers participating in the 12th Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival (SCRF).
This annual tribute is in line with His Highness’s leading efforts to enrich the emirate’s public libraries with high-quality and latest books and other knowledge resources for children and youth in the UAE.
As thriving cultural centres, Sharjah’s public libraries are a hub for academics, researchers, artists and students from around the world, and provide a wealth of knowledge resources in a safe and supportive environment that promotes lifelong learning opportunities to anyone who accesses these libraries.
