Noble Holy Quran copy worth Dhs500,000 displayed in ADIBF

Visitors of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair in its thirtieth edition never miss the chance to see the greatness of the golden copy of the Noble Qur’an that dates back to the 11th century.

The golden “Mushhaf” is displayed in a pavilion of rare manuscripts and books that take its visitors on a journey through history and different eras.

These rare manuscripts, books and maps dating back centuries narrate the history of astronomy, medicine, mathematics and maps, so visitors feel like watching the succession of rich Arab and foreign civilizations and sciences in the period between the 11th to the 19th centuries.

“Participation of the publishing house Adina Graz in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair-2021 came with the aim of showcasing rare manuscripts “replicas” of centuries-old artworks preserved in treasuries of some counties,” Paul Strozil, Executive Director of the Austrian publishing house Adina Graz-founded in 1949, told the Emirates News Agency (WAM).

He revealed that the “Adina Graz” pavilion showcases a number valuable and rare religious and Islamic works, including a golden copy of the Noble Qur’an of 24 karat gold paper worth Dhs500,000. There are only 10 copies in the world.

In addition, a book on the Christian religion dating back to the 8th century is also displayed in the pavilion, next to the smallest book in the world-size between 2 to 3 cm, and some works of international musicians as well, he added.

Paul Strozil expressed his pride in participating in the activities of the 30th edition of the Abu Dhabi Book Fair, commending its good organization with maintaining the precautionary measures to ensure safety of exhibitors and visitors.

“The Abu Dhabi Book fair enjoys a leading global position as one of the most important book fairs in the world,” Strozil added.

“This edition is a good step that translates the beginning of a high recovery in light of the current exceptional circumstances that the world is witnessing due to the Coronavirus pandemic,” Paul Strozil, Executive Director of the Austrian publishing house Adina Graz said.
