Asian jailed, fined Dhs1,200 for stealing bus seats in Dubai

A 30-year-old Asian was sentenced to 3 months in jail and was fined Dhs1,200 for stealing bus seats and selling them to a scrap shop in Dubai.
He will be deported after serving his jail sentence.
The robbery took place last March, when police’s operations room received a call to report about the robbery of 6 seats from a bus parked in Al Qusais area.
According to official records, investigations teams successfully identified the defendant and arrested him.
The defendant confessed to stealing the chairs in order to sell them at a scrap shop for Dhs700.
He also confessed to committing similar robberies in the same area.
