The newly appointed Pakistan Ambassador to the UAE, Afzaal Mahmood, recently visited the Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD), a community centre with multiple facilities, and appreciated the community for their support in the construction and running of modern facilities in Dubai.
Mahmood, along with the office-bearers of PAD and the mission’s officials, toured the different parts of the PAD and admired the centre. “Pakistanis are acknowledged the world over as a generous community, actively engaged in philanthropic activities with a deep sense of compassion towards fellow community members. Channellising these contributions towards wellbeing of others and providing world-class social services is the real challenge. I am pleased to see services and facilities at Pakistan Association Dubai today. PAD is no doubt among the best associations in the world,” he said.
The ambassador was speaking during his visit to Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD). He was received by Dr. Faisal Ikram, president of PAD, along with other members of the association. The ambassador was briefed about the different services provided in the association during his visit to the different facilities in PAD.
The ambassador appreciated the gesture that all communities in the UAE are welcome in PAD. “This demonstrates Pakistan is a progressive Islamic state that believes in sharing and opening its doors to all communities,” the Ambassador added.
Afzaal Mahmood offered all support from the Embassy of Pakistan to PAD and encouraged the Association to keep working with the same zeal for the welfare of the community.
Dr. Faisal Ikram said that it was due to the support from the community, Consulate General and Embassy of Pakistan in the UAE that PAD received the best quality award last year. He thanked the ambassador for his visit to the association and offering his support to the Association.
Separately, Afzaal Mahmood met Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Group CEO of Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC) recently to discuss bilateral cooperation, including collaboration between ADNEC and Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).
