The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP), announced that it conducted 233,038 additional COVID-19 tests and detected 2,062 new coronavirus cases.
The new cases bring the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 579,009.
“The infected individuals are from various nationalities, are in a stable condition, and receiving the necessary care,” ministry said in a statement.
Total number of deaths in the UAE due to coronavirus rose to 1,691 after ministry announced two new deaths.
MoHAP also noted that an additional 2,035 individuals had fully recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 558,584.
The Ministry also announced that 72,879 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were given in the past 24 hours.
The total number of doses provided up to Friday stands at 13,227,344 with a rate of vaccine distribution of 133.74 doses per 100 people.
The Ministry stressed its aim to continue expanding the scope of testing nationwide to facilitate the early detection of coronavirus cases and carry out the necessary treatment.
The Ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and wished COVID-19 patients a speedy and full recovery.
It called on all members of the society to cooperate with health authorities, adhere to the instructions and physical distance to ensure the health and safety of all.
