UAE reports 2, 281 new COVID-19 cases, 2,234 recoveries and 3 deaths

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) announced on Friday that it conducted 225,651 additional COVID19 tests and detected  2,281 new coronavirus cases.

The new cases bring the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 593,894.

The infected individuals are from various nationalities, are in a stable condition, and receiving the necessary care, said the ministry statement.

The total number of deaths in the country rose to 1,720 on Friday after the ministry announced three new deaths due to COVID-19 complications.

According to the ministry statement an additional 2,234 individuals had fully recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries in the UAE to 573,194.

The Ministry also announced that 94,223 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were given in the past 24 hours.

The total number of doses provided up to Friday stands at 13,684,429 with a rate of vaccine distribution of 138.36 doses per 100 people.

The Ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and wished COVID-19 patients a speedy and full recovery.

It called on all members of the society to cooperate with health authorities, adhere to the instructions and physical distance to ensure the health and safety of all.
