The security teams at the Dubai Police managed to solve the mystery of Hor Al Anz murder crime in record time, using the latest technologies and equipment, Colonel Makki Salman Ahmed Salman, Director of the Crime Scene Department-General Department of Forensic Evidence and Criminology at Dubai Police, said.
This was after the operation room received a report at 5:00am about discovery of a dead body of an African in the sand in Hor Al Anz area in Dubai.
"The preliminary data of the investigations indicated that the dead man might have committed suicide, as there was no physical evidence of a criminal act at the scene," Colonel Makki Salman said.
He explained that the teams of the crime scene department accompanied by the forensic expert immediately moved to the scene, where the fingerprints of the dead were taken and he was identified.
"The police officials detected traces of bloodstains and they were analysed by the experts, which determined the direction from which the victim was attacked and the object used in the crime," Makki added.
Through the specialised teams, the data was analysed at an amazing speed.
On further investigations it was found that there were differences between the victim and one of his compatriot friends.
Accordingly, victim's friend was arrested and he confessed to murdering the victim.
The accused was then referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal procedures in just one hour.
