This comes within the framework of the SRTA's keenness to control the movement of violating trucks, reduce traffic accidents, and ensure their full compliance with the traffic requirements and instructions in all Sharjah streets and roads to preserve the safety and lives of others.
The new vehicles constitute an important and qualitative addition, as it will play a significant role in facilitating the work of traffic officers and reducing traffic violations committed by these trucks by driving on roads not designated for such purposes, Eng. Yousef Khamis Al-Othmani said.
He stressed the need for trucks to abide by the instructions and laws regulating traffic in Sharjah with a view to avoid financial fines of up to Dhs50,000 and other penalties that may lead to the seizure of the truck.
