The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has announced that it conducted 253,077 additional COVID-19 tests and detected 1,942 new coronavirus cases.
The new cases bring the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 608,070.
All the infected individuals are from various nationalities, are in a stable condition, and receiving the necessary care.
All the test were conducted using state-of-the-art medical testing equipment.
The total number of deaths in the country due to the virus infection rose to 1,747 on Friday after the Ministry announced 6 new deaths due to COVID-19 complications.
The Ministry i its statement also noted that an additional 1,918 individuals had fully recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 587,160.
The Ministry also announced that 116,418 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were given in the past 24 hours.
The total number of doses provided up to Friday stands at 14,298,438 with a rate of vaccine distribution of 144.57 doses per 100 people.
The Ministry stressed its aim to continue expanding the scope of testing nationwide to facilitate the early detection of coronavirus cases and carry out the necessary treatment.
The Ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and wished COVID-19 patients a speedy and full recovery.
The Ministry has urged all members of the society to adhere to the instructions and physical distance to ensure the health and safety of all.
