Hundreds of firefighters in Poland struggled, Saturday, to put out a devastating fire that broke out in the southern village of Nowa Byala, which razed dozens of homes, injuring nine people.
Official media confirmed that about 400 firefighters participated in extinguishing the fire.

The cause that ignited fire is not yet known.
More than 40 buildings were destructed in the village, which is located about 70 kilometers south of the historic city of Krakow.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced aid to those affected.
