The main train station “Mahatet Misr” in Alexandria province, Egypt, on Tuesday morning witnessed a collision between a tractor and a train that was heading from Alexandria to Cairo. The train’s rear carriage was mangled due to the collision, according to “Al Youm Al Sabe’a” news website.
A railway source said that 40 people sustained injuries as result of the accident, and they were transferred by ambulance to Gamal Hamada Hospital and Ras El-Tin in Alexandria. Their condition is stable, the source confirmed.
The security and executive officials were present at the scene to find out the causes of the accident, while the Public Prosecution continued with the required legal action.
