The coronavirus pandemic has drastically cut international flights. Flights are being suspended to and from several countries. The pandemic has even affected operations of international flights in India. Countries such as Canada, the UK, Australia, and the US have put the brakes on commercial flights dealing with India. Fresh dates for suspension of flights are being announced off and on.
In a new turn of events, international flights to and from India have been suspended till 11.59pm Indian Standard Time on July 31, a circular issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said.
The curbs do not tamper with cargo operations and flights specifically approved by the DGCA.
On Tuesday, Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways announced that all Etihad flights from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka remain suspended until July 21.
It said that this has been done due to the ongoing restrictions because of the pandemic.
Etihad Airways says its contact centres and social media teams are flooded with enquiries about the resumption of flights from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh to the UAE.
