The UAE on Tuesday announced 2,184 new cases and five deaths due to coronavirus complications. The new cases were detected after the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) conducted 281,043 additional COVID-19 tests over the past 24 hours.
The new coronavirus cases bring the total number of infections in the country to 631,160. The total number of deaths in the country to due to COVID-19 complications reached 1,807 after five new deaths.
Meanwhile, an additional 2,105 individuals had fully recovered from COVID-19, which brings the total number of recoveries in the country to 609,711.
The Ministry of Health also announced that 87,427 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered during the past 24 hours.
The total number of doses provided up to Tuesday stands at 15,198,661 with a rate of vaccine distribution of 153.67 doses per 100 people.
MoHAP in its statement has said that it aims to expand the scope of testing to facilitate the early detection of coronavirus cases.
Expressing its condolences to the family of the deceased and wishing patients a speedy recovery the ministry urged members of the society to cooperate with health authorities.
It asked all residents to adhere to the instructions and maintain distancing to ensure safety of all.
