Four people were injured in two separate traffic accidents early on Wednesday, the acting director of the General Department of Traffic Police at Dubai Police revealed.
Colonel Jumaa Salem Bin Suwaidan said the accidents happened due to violations of traffic laws, including excessive speeding and failing to pay attention to the road.
“The first accident occurred at 2:40am on Sheik Zayed Road Sharjah-bound, when vehicle crashed into a motorcycle causing the motorcyclists mild injuries," Suwaidan said.
Col. Suwaidan further explained that the second accident involved two light vehicles and happened at 11:00 AM on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road -Sharjah-bound.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that excessive speeding and distraction resulted in a sever crash between a sedan and an SUV each other.”
“The impact caused the SUV to veer off road and ram into a metal barrier," the Col confirmed.
The acting director of the General Department of Traffic Police at Dubai Police said the collision impact left three people moderately and severely injured, and caused damage to both vehicles. Col Suwaidan noted that all injured were taken to hospital for treatment.
