The active cases continue to decline as India on Sunday recorded 955 deaths and added 43,071 new cases of COVID-19 in past 24 hours, the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry said.
The recoveries outnumber the new cases. In the last 24 hours, the country witnessed the recoveries were 52,299.

The receding trend of fresh cases continued the stadiums, sports complexes allowed to open in Delhi with no spectators.

Sunday is the 16th consecutive day in the last two months when the death toll has been below the 2,000-mark.
It is also the 26th consecutive day when India reported less than 100,000 new coronavirus cases. On June 29, India recorded 37,566 cases, lowest since March 18 while on June 22 India reported 42,640 cases.
The country has 485,350 active cases presently.

A total of 52,299 people have been discharged in the last 24 hours, taking the total discharge to 29,658,078 till date, according to the Union Health Ministry.
The Health Ministry said that a total of 351,221,306 people have been vaccinated so far in the country, including 6,387,849 who were administered vaccines in the last 24 hours.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, 418,254,953 samples have been tested up to July 3 for COVID-19. Of these 1,838,490 samples were tested on Saturday.
