India registers more than 43,000 new coronavirus cases; 955 deaths in 24 hours

The active cases continue to decline as India on Sunday recorded 955 deaths and added 43,071 new cases of COVID-19 in past 24 hours, the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry said.
The recoveries outnumber the new cases. In the last 24 hours, the country witnessed the recoveries were 52,299.

The receding trend of fresh cases continued the stadiums, sports complexes allowed to open in Delhi with no spectators.
With this, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in India has reached 30,545,433, and the recovery rate in the country has reached 97.09 per cent.

On July 3 India recorded 738 deaths, lowest since April 8.
India on Friday crossed 400,000 deaths due to coronavirus. With 600,000 deaths, the US is at the top of the list followed by Brazil with 520,000 deaths due to the COVID-19.
The first death due to COVID-19 in the country was reported last year in March. On May 23, 2021, the country witnessed highest fatalities with 4,454 deaths in 24 hours.
Sunday is the 16th consecutive day in the last two months when the death toll has been below the 2,000-mark.
It is also the 26th consecutive day when India reported less than 100,000 new coronavirus cases. On June 29, India recorded 37,566 cases, lowest since March 18 while on June 22 India reported 42,640 cases.
The country has 485,350 active cases presently.
The active cases have now come down below 500,000. The country has 485,350 active cases presently and has witnessed a total of 402,005 deaths so far.
A total of 52,299 people have been discharged in the last 24 hours, taking the total discharge to 29,658,078 till date, according to the Union Health Ministry.
The Health Ministry said that a total of 351,221,306 people have been vaccinated so far in the country, including 6,387,849 who were administered vaccines in the last 24 hours.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, 418,254,953 samples have been tested up to July 3 for COVID-19. Of these 1,838,490 samples were tested on Saturday.
