The UAE Health Ministry said that the Abu Dhabi EDE technology is the best system to detect COVID-19 cases in public places in minutes.

The authorities said, “EDE technology for infection detection is an innovative, fast and safe way to detect the possibility of infection with COVID-19 through remote investigation without the need to take samples for testing.”

Health experts during a media briefing on the latest development on COVID said, “The system achieved 93.5% in accuracy of identifying infected individuals, and 83% in identifying uninfected individuals.”

This innovative technology can make many aspects of our lives safe and easy, including travel and access to leisure venues, shops and public places.

The EDE technology allows early detection and contributes to limiting the spread of the virus in public places at early stages.

The experimental results showed the high effectiveness of this technology, as more than 20,000 people were tested with this device.

The Abu Dhabi EDE screening system investigates the possibility of infection with the COVID-19 virus by measuring electromagnetic waves that change when the RNA particles of the virus are present in a person's body, providing an instant result.

“Abu Dhabi has adopted an integrated strategy to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, based on increased testing to ensure safe entry into the emirate, vaccination and the continued implementation of precautionary measures, Dr Jamal Mohammed Al Kaabi, Undersecretary at Department of Health - Abu Dhabi, said.  

“The use of the EDE scanning system is part of this strategy and reflects the leadership’s vision in harnessing modern technology to create solutions that turn challenges into opportunities. The EDE scanners will be used alongside other approved testing methods, such as PCR and DPI.”
