Robbers attack a couple in Dubai, snatch phones and wallets

An African worker and his runaway accomplice were prosecuted by Dubai courts on robbery charges for attacking and mugging a couple in Naif area of Dubai.

The incident happened in February, when the couple was walking towards a market at midnight.

The female victim said, “I just finished my shift and was heading to the supermarket when the two robbers came from behind.”

The first defendant snatched my phone, while the second took her backpack.

Then one of them restrained the male victim and the second pushed the woman to the ground before fleeing the scene.

They managed to take away a phone worth Dhs960, and a bag worth Dhs50.

There was another phone and some cash totalling Dhs450 inside the the bag.

The female victim attempted to catch them but failed to do so.

Afterwards she straight away went to  Naif Police Station and filed a robbery report.
