An Asian man, 36 years old, was arrested and facing trial on forgery charges for using another individual’s ID to steal and sell a company generator in Dubai.
The arresting officer testified saying “A robbery report was received by the operations room about a generator that went missing from a project location in Dubai. An investigation was initiated and resulted in the identification of the vehicle used to transport the generator.”
The vehicle’s driver was asked about the incident, and he revealed that he had received a phone call from a man who claimed to be working in the transportation field.
“The man asked me to head to the given location to transport the generator, without explaining further details,” the driver said.
The generator was transported to an auto-spare parts shop in Sharjah, and the driver received his money.
The police interrogated the buyer who claimed that he had been contacted by a man who offered to sell the generator. The generator’s pictures and bill were sent to the buyer.
An ambush was set to place the defendant under arrest by luring him to offer to sell more generators.
The police found out that the defendant was using someone else’s ID to steal generators and sell them.
