Bystanders and passersby averted a terrible disaster in Traverse, Michigan, by rushing to stabilise a Magic Carpet carnival ride during a celebration of the National Cherry Festival.
The Magic Carpet ride was about to collapse after it got out of control.
People at the park ran towards the ride and grabbed it from its base so as to stabilise it.
The frightening moments were documented by a number of passersby, which shows the foundation collapsing and shaking violently with people screaming in terror.
The ride seemed to be on the verge of complete collapse, after losing control, had it not been for the number of passersby who cooperated together to help stabilise the ride with their body weight.
The video shows passersby jumping onto the platform, averting disaster.
As soon as one person grabbed it to stabilise it, others rushed in, climbed the railing, and managed to stabilise it until the shaking stopped.
The accident did not result in any damage.
The next morning, the authorities dismantled the dangerous ride.
Social media users praised the courage of passersby who intervened in time to avoid the horrific disaster.
