Abu Dhabi Police have issued fines for 5,177 motorists during the first half of the year for hiding their licence plates, for fear of getting caught.
The motorists have been using bicycles, or other items to hide their number plates, in a way that is impossible to monitor their data.

The Abu Dhabi Police warned the public to stay away from such malpractices and announced a fine of up to Dhs400 if the plates lack clarity.
They also emphasised the keenness to intensify traffic control and take legal measures on violations of any vehicle that does not comply with the clarification of numbers in accordance with the Federal Traffic Law.
