The Dubai Police have confiscated 2,105
vehicles during 2020 and the first six month of 2021 in the emirate of Dubai for violating traffic laws such as heavily modifying cars with power boosters to increase the engine speed, and causing nuisance and disturbance to residents.
Brig. Abdullah Khadem Bin Suroor, Director of Bur Dubai Police Station-Chairman of the Police Stations Directors Council, said that the impounded vehicles were 72 in Al Rashidiya Police Station, 4 in Hatta Police Station, 1,902 in Bur Dubai Police Station, 31 in Al Muraqqabat Police Station, 79 in Al Qusais Police Station, and 17 in Jebel Ali Police Station.

He added that the police stations in Dubai, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Traffic, intensified traffic campaigns that contribute to control violators, maintaining road safety, reducing fatal accidents, preserving property, ensuring safety for road users, controlling traffic violations, especially those related to installing major additives to vehicle engines to create noise with reckless driving.
Brig. Suroor called on motorists, especially young people, to abide by the laws and avoid negative behaviour, stressing that traffic safety is a duty and responsibility shared by everyone in the society without exception.
