Abu Dhabi Police have issued a fresh warning to parents about growing incidents of online cybercrimes.
The Police called on parents to protect youngsters from extortion and abuse through websites, social networking and electronic games such as cases of bullying, threats, harassment, and luring young people to share their photos and data and implicating them in immoral activities.
The Police warned against subscribing or buying electronic games online, and not to disclose credit card details and purchase through trusted sites.
Online shopping should be made with a bankcard with limited balance to avoid untoward incidents.
The Police urged the community to be vigilant while dealing with electronic game websites that are famous among children, as they might scam to pay in order to complete the stages of their game.

The public has been urged to report cybercrimes by making a call to the Aman service's hotline number (8002626).
