UAE expresses solidarity with Iraq over deadly hospital fire in Nasiriyah city

The UAE has expressed its solidarity with the friendly Republic of Iraq over the victims of the fire that struck Al Hussein Hospital in Nasiriyah on Monday night.

On Tuesday, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its sincere condolences to the government of Iraq and to the families of the victims of this tragic accident.

In a statement, the UAE foreign ministry also wished a speedy recovery to the injured of the hospital fire.

Grief and anger gripped the city of Nasiriyah after blaze swept through a temporary coronavirus isolation ward, killing 92 patients.

The deadly fire in Al Hussein Hospital, which doctors said was fuelled by oxygen canisters exploding, was the second such incident in Iraq in three months.
