The Abu Dhabi Appellate Court rejected a lawsuit by a man against his ex-wife, demanding that she had to pay him a compensation of Dhs100,000 for falsely reporting that he had assaulted her and endangered her life.
The man added that her report delayed his promotion, prevented him from travelling on work missions and obligated him to be absent from work during police and prosecutor interrogations.
He also indicated that the report damaged his reputation among his colleagues and family, however, the Court said the woman used her right to complain.
The Court of First Instance obligated the woman to pay her ex-husband Dhs 30,000 and expenses.
The man and his ex wife appealed the ruling.
The man demanded in his appeal an increase in the amount of compensation, while his divorcee indicated that she had been divorced due to the harm and that her ex-husband filed the lawsuit only to blackmail her in regard to the deferred dower and other rights.
