Two Russian girls miraculously escaped death after falling from a hammock onto the top of a 6,300-foot mountain.
The girls were rescued by authorities, according to local media reports.
The horrific incident occurred in the Sulak Valley in the Russian Republic of Dagestan. The two girls were riding a swing on top of a 6,300-foot cliff, but suddenly the swing chain broke, and the swing seat flipped. The girls fell towards the edge of the steep cliff.
Fortunately, their lives were saved by a small wooden platform that was on the edge of the cliff, preventing a terrible fall.
The girls were only bruised and were dragged to safety by people.
"The two girls sustained scratches, but neither of them was seriously injured," a local official said.
The authorities in Dagestan confirmed that the swing did not meet safety standards, and as a result, the young women fell off the swing seat.
Police are currently investigating the safety of several valley swings that were built near the village of Zopotli, where the accident occurred, many of which do not meet safety international standards.
