Abu Dhabi has approved general preventive and precautionary measures to protect public health and the community's safety during Eid Al Adha.
The Emergency Committee of Abu Dhabi has updated the operating capacity of multiple activities in the emirate, starting from Monday (July 19).
From Monday only 50 per cent of the total capacity will be allowed in public beaches, public parks, beaches and swimming pools, restaurants and cafes, gyms and spas in hotels.
Buses and public ferries will also operate at only 50 per cent capacity.
Shopping malls will allow only 40 per cent of customers and the capacity of cinemas will be reduced to 30 per cent only.
Only three passengers will be permitted in a five-passenger taxi and four in a seven-passenger taxi.
The committee has urged resident to avoid social gatherings and urged them to meet with friends and family virtually.
It also asked all to follow all precautionary measures including frequent hand washing, wearing masks and social distancing.
On Thursday the committee has announced the launch of the National Sterilisation Programme in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, starting from Monday (July 19 ) as part of efforts to protect public health and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Sterilisation will take place daily between midnight and 5:00am. During these hours, the movement of traffic and the public will be restricted and there will be no transportation services.
