Etihad suspends flights from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh till July 31

The Abu Dhabi-based airline Etihad Airways has extended its flight suspension from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh until July 31.

The airline made the statement on Twitter. The decision was taken due to the spike in coronavirus cases in India and emergence of the Delta variant.

Etihad wrote, “As per current regulations, all the flights from India have been suspended until 31 July 2021, subject to extension.”

Etihad made similar statements for Pakistani and Bangladeshi travellers.

Dubai-based Emirates said that the airline's decision to suspend flights from India remains in place until July 21.

Emirates confirmed to its customers with a tweet, “Our flights from India are currently suspended until 21st July and are subject to further review. Thus, we can't be certain with an exact resumption date yet.”

However, Emiratis, Golden Visa holders and diplomatic missions’ staff would be allowed to travel if they agree to the latest travel measures.

The UAE authorities have approved the Covishield vaccine for Indian travellers. The Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine is being sold in India under the brand name Covishield.
