India reported on Thursday 41,383 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, while daily deaths rose by 507, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare data showed.
The Health Ministry data showed that the country's tally of infections now stands at 31.26 million, with the death toll at 418,987.

A total of 38,652 people were discharged from hospitals and health centres in the last 24 hours, taking the total cured to 30,429,339 till date while the virus continues to infect less than one lakh people over the last 44 days, according to the government.
Indian Health Ministry said around 280,000 cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours.
According to government data the country now has 409,394 active cases and has witnessed a total of 418,987 deaths so far.
A total of 417,851,151 COVID vaccine doses were administered in India, including 2,277,679 in the last 24 hours, the health ministry data showed.

The total number of samples tested so far has reached 450,911,712 on July 21, including 1,718,439 samples tested on Wednesday.

The deaths have followed record numbers of new cases being reported in countries across the region which have left health care systems struggling to cope and governments scrambling to implement new restrictions to try to slow the spread.
