Drivers rushed to catch coffee capsules that fell from a truck following a traffic accident on a highway in northeastern France. Some of them carried several cans of these products homes.
Eric Chevalier, a Rexheim traffic police officer, said: “The right side of a truck was smashed when it tried to evade a collision with two others ahead, causing its load of Nespresso capsules to fall from it at a distance of 400 to 500 metres.”
“People started collecting the coffee capsules, and given the high cost of this brand, they decided not to deprive themselves of them this did not last long as the gendarmerie arrived at the site,” he added.
A video clip posted on the ‘Info Traffic Alsace’ account on Twitter showed drivers stopping at the side of the road to collect capsules and some of them returned with more than a box.
Despite the reckless drivers, no injuries were recorded and no drivers stopped by the police.
