A number of people dressed as Spider Man and Batman and Ali G. caused chaos in a London store after they got into a violent fight and exchanged kicks with shoppers and guards, according to British media.
They recorded a video and broadcast it later on TikTok.
British police are investigating the video clips of the incident, which occurred in an Asda store, where the gang members believed to be video makers appear on social media while recording a hoax for them, before the incident escalated into a violent quarrel with the shoppers in Clapham, south of London.
In the video clips, a thug dressed as Spider Man appears as he turns into a karate player in the store, yelling at shoppers, before wrestling with and punching a girl and throwing her to the ground to the shock of shoppers.
In another video, another group, including masked ones, appears beating people inside the same store, wreaking havoc in it, and using batons to beat the guards and shop-goers.
The British authorities announced that five people had been arrested, which resulted in the injuries to six people.
The arrests included a 31-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm and violent disturbance inside the store.
Wandsworth Police said, "We are aware of videos on social media showing a disturbance in a supermarket in Clapham. Five people were arrested and are still in detention. Six people were injured in the accident.”
An Asda spokesperson confirmed, “We are aware of an incident that occurred in our store late last night. We will not tolerate any form of violence or abuse towards colleagues or clients, and we work closely with the police in their investigations.”
