India reported 39,742 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare data showed.

A government statement said on Sunday the coronavirus death toll rose by 535 deaths in the last 24 hours, with the total reaching 420,551.
Health ministry data showed the country now has 408,212 active cases and has witnessed a total of 420,551 deaths so far.

A total of 39,972 people were discharged from hospitals and health centres in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cured to 30,543,138 till date as the virus continued to infect less than 100,000 people over the last 47 days, according to the government statement.
According to the health ministry data, a total of 433,150,864 COVID vaccine doses have been administered in India so far, including 5,118,210 in the last 24 hours.
The total number of samples tested so far have reached 456,289,567 as on July 24, including 1,718,756 samples tested on Saturday.
